I think the effective integration of ICT is where it forms a natural process of teaching for both the teacher and the pupil.
However I also think it is important to consider back up plans to your lessons as complete reliance on ICT can be unpredictable, causing a complete meltdown of your lesson plan.

A great download to add to your lessons.
One of the games I think is really good is a multiple choice game called Football which you can assess by clicking TextMatch on the left hand side and then scrolling down to Football.
The Football game is for use with the interactive whiteboard for two players or teams (or it can be played by two students at a computer). The two teams are red v blue and you take in in turns to answer the question. The game can be played as a timed game or as a “first to..” game (e.g. first to two goals). Once they answer the question correctly they can pass to their team or attempt a shot.
There is a time restraint to answer each question to maintain a past paced game and keep the children engaged. If you fail to answer the question within the time frame the play will be passed to the other team. To make the game slightly more realistic the ball does not always go to the intended player when you pass or shoot.
I think this game will be very popular and is great to gauge their understanding at the start of a topic or to assess their understanding at the end of the topic. The game also encourages the players to answer more questions by making shorter passes to have a higher chance of being successful with their pass or shot.
